Random Mouse Ramblings

We are on the verge of Disney World's Marathon Weekend and I'm excited. Hope is running on Sunday morning, even though it seems like Antarctica has taken over the Lake Buena Vista area. That throws a huge monkey wrench into the whole thing, as severe cold (as defined in Florida - low 30 degrees, high 50 degrees) is a factor that you don't usually have to deal with down here. Waiting in the queue area in Epcot's parking lot will be miserable. But hopefully once she gets running, the cold won't be as big a factor. At least it's not forecast to rain that day, like it is on Friday for those poor 5K participants. Yikes.

I'm wondering when we'll see the first inkling of construction on the new Fantasyland. You've gotta think it will be fairly soon...

I'm surprised that the folks at Lucasfilm and Disney aren't combining Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios (every weekend between May 21 - June 13) and the Official Star Wars Celebration at the Orlando Convention Center (August 12-15) in some way. Seems to me you might be asking what's mostly the same fan base to make two separate trips, which in this economy is asking a lot...

Our daughter Katie, who danced in her school's Nutcracker Ballet recital in December, was ecstatic to see the Magic Kingdom rendition in front of the Castle last week. All her hard work in becoming a ballerina gave her true appreciation for the level of skill the Disney World dancers possess as she watched them on stage with Mickey & Crew...

WDW Today's Sip And Snack 3 podcast that just came out and was hilarious. Nothing beats the very first one and its spontaneity, but both 2 and now 3 are laugh-out-loud funny...

My question though is where was Matt and Len???...

And speaking of podcasts, Tom Corless and Co. did a great job on Christmas Podcast Parade 2009. I cracked up at the WDWNT crew singing the Epcot classics...

And speaking further of podcasts, I can't wait to hear The DisUnplugged's new format...

Epcot's New Year's Eve party was much more fun that I imagined it would be. Will definitely want to do it again next year...
